SAMPLE1 - Vision Casting Dinner:
Crossroads invited many people to a dinner on January 10, 2014 to hear details and plans regarding
the church plant in Brook Park. There were about 40 people in attendance. East Park Retirement
Community graciously donated their hall and all the food for the evening. God is blessing this ministry in
Brook Park with many generous gifts.
At the dinner Dave Walters shared the vision of doing church every day of the week in Brook Park. The
goal of Crossroads is to develop true relationships with people where they are and introduce them to
the only relationship they need, the one with Jesus Christ. The plan is to reach those who have been
disconnected in their faith or to establish a hope in those who have never experienced the love Christ. To
be able to have people reaching out to people, Crossroads said they would commit to equip and teach
people how to do this.
Crossroads asked those in attendance to commit to this ministry in many different ways. The most
important was to commit to prayer. Crossroads needs to be lifted in prayer to see the will of God and to
follow only in His guiding steps. Another commitment was to walk along side and help with the ministry.
At this time Crossroads is hosting Bible Study twice a month and will begin a worship ministry at East
Park Retirement Community for their residents once a month. Crossroads was asking for people to come
and join in either of these events. The last commitment was for financial contributions. Of course with all
ministries comes a financial cost. Crossroads asked for a pledge of continued contributions or a onetime
offering.
Those who were at the Vision Dinner were a blessing to the Crossroads Planting Team. Many pastors
were there to encourage the work. People from Brook Park were there saying, “Yes we want to get
involved”. Young adults were there saying “I want to reach out to those my age; I want to find out how to
do this.” Commitments of tithes were made by congregations. Hands were laid on the team and prayer
was lifted up.
